Step 3: Appointment Reminders and Confirmations

You may have up to 5 different Appointment Reminders or Confirmations enabled.

An Appointment Confirmation will alert the patient of the upcoming appointment and allows them to confirm the appointment.
A Reminder will alert the patient of the appointment without asking them to confirm the appointment.

Set the # of days prior to an appointment date to send the reminder/confirmation, and select the contact method(s). Please note that:

Our system runs on calendar days, not business days
"Both Email & SMS" will always send BOTH an email and SMS as long as the patient has an email and mobile phone number on record.
"Patient's Preferred Method" will send either an email or SMS, depending on the patient's contact priority setting.

Customizing text:

For each Reminder/Confirmation enabled, please use the example image on the left and edit the text boxes on the right to your liking.
We recommend that you do not change any special parameters (ex: {FamAppts} {$_CONFIRMLINK_$} ), as ClearConnect uses these parameters to create unique emails and SMS messages for each patient.

As a default, we have enabled the following recommendation: 14-day reminder, 7-day confirmation, 3-day confirmation and 1-day reminder.

Upcoming recall reminders are sent prior to the due date or follow up date using the recall template.
Overdue recall reminders are sent after the due date or follow up date using the recall template.

Additional Information:

If you don't require the automation, please disable them.
The Recall Due Date indicates the date that the recall is eligible to be billed to insurance.
The Follow-Up Date is flexible, used by the office staff to remind the patient that they need to book their next cleaning/check.
